Dr. Sebunya is one of the few women in freight logistics in East Africa and distinguished leader in the industry. Her experience spans two decades. She is the founder and the managing director of BTS Clearing and Forwarding Limited, one of the leading freight logistics companies in Uganda and East Africa. She is the Chairman of a leading Cargo Freight Station (CFS) in East Africa. She is also a consultant in the freight logistics and transport sectors and Chair of the Board of Associated Freight Logistics Centre, a consulting company in Uganda.

 

In the area of leadership, she is a founder member of both the Uganda Freight Forwarders Association (UFFA) and the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations (FEAFFA). She is the immediate Past Chairperson of UFFA, and President of FEAFFA. Merian is a Board member of Private Sector Foundation of Uganda chairing the National Logistics Platform and, until recently, chaired the Transport & Logistics Technical Working Group of the Presidential Investors Round Table Forum.

 

Merian has formerly served on the Board of East African Business Council and of TradeMark East Africa, an organization of 12 Donor Countries and Development Partners supporting East African integration and increased trade.

 

Merian has also served and supported many public sector committees, fora and boards, in various ministries, e.g, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Works & Transport, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of East African Community Affairs and the East African Community itself including negotiations of Common Market Protocol, Customs Union Protocol and wrote and presented the private sector position on the Single Customs Territory model that could be applied at the time and in the circumstances, which was the model adopted by the region - the 'destination clearance' model. Merian is also the current Chairman of Uganda Road Fund Board.

John K. Mathenge

John K. Mathenge

John Mathenge is the Executive Director of Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations (FEAFFA) for the last 7 years. He is a graduate of Economics, a diploma holder in business management and several international certificates on freight logistics management and trade facilitation.

 

His experience spans over 20 years in freight forwarding industry. He is an expert and leader in trade facilitation and capacity building/ training in the sector. Among other positions, he has served as a member of Customs tribunal in Kenya, a member of the management committee of the Regional Customs Bond Guarantee scheme.  He is steering the professionalization of the Customs agents and freight forwarding industry in East Africa.

Josephine Nyebaza

Josephine Nyebaza
Chairperson CIC

NYEBAZA Josephine holds an Honours Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration from the School of Finance and Banking. She is a Shareholder and the Managing Director of Intra Cargo LTD a Clearing and Forwarding Firm based in Rwanda. She has been in the Freight forwarding Industry for 9 years and is a holder of the EACFFPC certificate.

 

She has practical experience in Leadership, Administration, Logistics and Freight Forwarding.

Josephine is currently the second Vice-Chairperson of the Association of Clearing Firms in Rwanda (RWAFFA), the Chairperson of the Curriculum Implementation Committee (CIC) in EAC Region and a trainer at the RWAFFA training Centre for Freight Forwarding. She is also the secretary for the platform of Professional Services Private Sector Federation (PSF).

 

Her experience has enabled her encounter challenges in solving most of arising administrative issues for the well running of the organization. She is creative, motivated and has superb interpersonal skills.

Stephen Analo

Stephen Analo
Technical Advisor at Directorate of Customs, EAC

Mr. Stephen Analo, is currently a Technical Advisor on Customs capacity building at the Directorate of Customs, East African Community. Previously he was Deputy Commissioner and Principal of the Kenya Revenue Authority Training Institute. 

 

Before joining Kenya Revenue Authority, he was the Training Manager for Post Bank – Kenya.  He has extensive knowledge and experience on regional integration and coordination of regional capacity building interventions. He has been the Head of World Customs Organization Regional Training Centre and he also coordinated World Postal Banks Regional training Programme in the EAC region.

 

Stephen is a holder of a Masters degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, B.A in Political Science and History both from the University of Nairobi, Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management (K) and Diploma in Business Management (K).

 

He is a leading consultant in the region having consulted for COMESA, EAC, World Customs, Institute of Human Resources (K), Kenya Institute of Management (K) and private firms   with specialization on organizational capacity building. – Management  & Leadership, Customer Relations,  Customer Care, Public Relations, International Relations and Diplomacy, training, Human resources Management,  Change Management and grooming. He has over 25 year of experience.

Deo Ntibibuka

Deo Ntibibuka
Managing Director of International Freight Logistics

Mr. Deo Ntibibuka a board member of Central corridor TTFA and president of the Transporters, Freight forwarders and Clearing Agencies Sector in the Burundi Federal Chamber of commerce and Industry.

 

He served as a member and President of Traffic Comity of AFFRA, African Airlines Association between 1986 and 1990. He holds Bachelor’s degree in Law from Burundi University and is a Judge at Commerce Tribunal.

Before joining the private sector, he spent over 8 years in the National Air Carrier AIR BURUNDI, legal division. He is also a member of the Rotary club

 

His career in freight forwarding has had him serve as senior manager in international companies as HANIEL TRANSPORT, THYSSEN HANIEL TRANSPORT, BURLINGTON AIR EXPRESS, and UTI.

He is the founding President of ABADT; the Burundi Association of Freight forwarder and Clearing Agencies and also former FEAFFA board member
