Sensitization of Customs Agents, Freight Forwarders, Warehouse Operators and Truck drivers on the COVID19 pandemic in East Africa.

Programs

FEAFFA, with support of TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guide industry players in their day-to-day operations within East Africa as they continue providing the essential freight logistics services while maintaining the highest health and safety standards to ensure they remain free from COVID-19. Given how the virus spread, the SOPs and other information materials targeted at freight logisticians had to be distributed in a safe and creative manner in order to avoid further spreads of the virus.

Objective

Convert the Covid-19 SOPs for freight forwarders, truck drivers, customs agents and warehouse operators into short videos and other graphics for online distribution.

Outcome

  • Covid-19 SOPs were converted into short videos and online posters in English, French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda and Luganda languages.
  • Over one (1) million users were reached across East Africa via the social media platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
